I’ve finally made the decision to move from WPMUDEV, I’ve made the decision for different reasons but in short I don’t like the way the company operates and the quality of their products is very poor.
Anyway, I need to replace some of their plugins that we use on our Multisite and on various other websites. I need to replace the following:
- Membership 2 Pro (Replace with Restricted Content Pro)
- Google Analytics Pro (Replace with Google Analytics Dashboard for WP)
- Domain Mapping (Replace with WP Ultimo Mercator)
- Smush Pro (Replace with Optimus)
- Dashboard – Management (ManageWP Maybe?)
I’ve included some alternatives that we could use in place of the WPMUDev versions but also wanted some input from you guys as I guess a lot of you may be thinking of the same move or already switched?1 year, 8 months ago goldenticketParticipant
“Dashboard – Management (ManageWP Maybe?)”
What was your thought process on using a remote tool like ManageWP when you are already using Multisite? Are you managing multiple different multisites you need to have access to at the same time, or is there a different reason?1 year, 8 months ago lakewoodmediaParticipant
We have a lot of clients that use in-house servers and also clients who are on dedicated servers with us so they fall out of the bracket of being suitable to go on a Multisite. We also have other clients who run their own multisite so they also don’t fit.
We only put low traffic sites on our MU network. We started our mu network to provide low-cost, quick, web design services and hosting to customers we would have turned down before.1 year, 7 months ago lakewoodmediaParticipant
Ended up using ManageWP for those interested.10 months, 4 weeks ago OKOROParticipant
I would second MainWP, by far the best solution for the money.
