What do you guys think about a WP Ultimo FB group? I feel like most WP related plugins and topics have one nowadays and problem solving/discussion are a lot quicker and fast paced.1 year, 5 months ago goldenticketParticipant
I prefer using these boards, and haven’t used Facebook as a means of plugin support. I just subscribe to these boards and get notified when there is a new threads and replies.1 year, 5 months ago lakewoodmediaParticipant
I do like Facebook groups for discussion as I’m more likely to check it. The forum is also useful for support topics and feature requests though.1 year, 5 months ago johangouws27Participant

Hello, everyone. I’m very resistant to the idea of support through a facebook group and I’ll try to explain my reasons below.
WP Ultimo is still developed primarily by one person: me. I’m commissioning some parts of the plugin to some other devs as an experiment, to see if we find a good fit to join me in product development, but still, at least for now, it is just me.
That means that every minute I spend doing something else is a minute not being put into developing new features, and we are in a stage right now where major features need to be implemented in order for us to bring WP Ultimo to the next level.
That being said. I think a facebook group would be very disruptive to my work day.
I do think we have enough support channels available for our size right now (forums, Chat widget on the plugin page, and email), and they all offer me a degree of control that allows me to both reply to questions and address bugs in a timely manner while maintaining productivity.
I’m all for it if users want to create a Facebook group to discuss the plugin, features, and bugs, I just don’t think it would be healthy for me – and ultimately, for the plugin – to join you there.
Hope you understand =)

I totally agree, you should definitely put every bit of time into developing WP Ultimo! 😉
That being said, I think the FB group would primary serve us users, rather than being another platform where people can file in a support ticket for you.
There are many aspects besides the actual plugin that are needed to make a WP network function and be worthwhile I think.1 year, 5 months ago bsevenagenciaParticipant
I agree with a group for wpultimo users on facebook. But knowing that it would not be a support group for the developer.
We could also exchange ideas about the last one, also talk about other issues such as business models, servers, ssl, and various other topics.

I actually came in looking to discuss this exact thing. And for the exact same reasons as Bsevenagencia.
So, I’ve started a group. I already manage a couple, so not that big a deal.
If you’re interested, please join. https://www.facebook.com/groups/189594661673325/
I’m super interested in hearing about other people’s projects, and business models, etc.
If anyone would like to be an admin, I’m happy to share.
And, fear not, Arindo, we’ll make sure anyone asking for support gets directed to the forums.9 months ago keithwandersParticipant
In addition to the WP Ultimo Users group, I recently discovered this Facebook Group and have been finding the info very helpful.9 months ago OKOROParticipant
I think it is best to do as Arindo asks and not post issues or bugs on Facebook as he wont see them and therefore can’t fix them.
Of course we are all managing our own clients whom we implement WP ultimo for. We wouldn’t expect our own clients to start telling us to have Facebook groups for them!
I think we should respect Arindo’s wishes on this matter as he is a one man band doing an amazing job.
There are enough forum categories here for us to post other topics in and get our questions answered on 😊
(Plus, if there isn’t I’m sure Arindo would happily make another category in the forum for you!)
While Facebook might be convenient for some people, you have to consider the person who would be having to trawll through it all trying to find the useful information. I’ve done it before and it can be a nightmare.
I won’t be joining the Facebook group (unless it’s official), and I hope other people will stick to this community forum as well, as it’s vital to giving WP Ultimo it’s best opportunity.
