Hi folks, sorry for the trouble. I’m having an issue with subsites not being accessible.
My main site and admin dashboard are perfectly accessible, however, whenever I make a subsite I cannot get to the site itself, or the wp-admin. In google chrome, the error is test.prairiemountain.media’s server IP address could not be found. “DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN”
This is my Namecheap setup: https://cl.ly/5a30c47d8e52
This is my WPUltimo setup: https://cl.ly/d379eaec013f
Here is my current code in the wp-config:
/* Multisite */ define( 'WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE', true ); define('MULTISITE', true); define('SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL', true); define('DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE', 'prairiemountain.media'); define('PATH_CURRENT_SITE', '/'); define('SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1); define('BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE', 1); define('SUNRISE', true); /* WP Ultimo: Adding automatically domain syncing with Cloudways */ define('WU_CLOUDWAYS', true); // Tells WP Ultimo we should connect to Cloudways define('WU_CLOUDWAYS_EMAIL', 'my actual email is here'); // The email address you use to login on Cloudways define('WU_CLOUDWAYS_API_KEY', 'deleted but proper code here'); // API Key obtained on step 1 define('WU_CLOUDWAYS_SERVER_ID', 'deleted but proper code here'); // Server ID obtained on step 2 define('WU_CLOUDWAYS_APP_ID', 'deleted but proper code here'); // App ID obtained on step 3 define('WU_CLOUDWAYS_EXTRA_DOMAINS', '*.prairiemountain.media'); /* end WP Ultimo */
Am I overlooking something? Any ideas what is going on?

Just as an update for troubleshooting purposes… when I go to do a ‘Upgrade Network’ this is the error I get.
Warning! Problem updating https://test.prairiemountain.media. Your server may not be able to connect to sites running on it. Error message: cURL error 6: Could not resolve host: test.prairiemountain.media

Okay I solved this. For future reference, if anyone runs into this issue it could be a problem with where your DNS is pointing. In my case I did not set anything for where subdomains were supposed to point.
To solve it you create an A Record with the host as *, pointing to the IP of your server.
Pretty silly oversight by me… but oh well, live and learn!10 months, 3 weeks ago mangomanParticipant
